I’m still without a name for the “feather flower” as I have come to call it.
Back in March I first shared images of these flowers in my post, Ramblings – Finding Beauty in the Strangest of Places. My drive this week took me back to the church to first of all capture the flowers in bloom, and second figure out what flower it was.
I am still just as baffled. So please, if you are aware of the name of this flower please let me know. They are pretty little apricot and yellow blossoms that then seem to puff out into the “feathers”.
For those of you who are interested, I processed these using Pure Tones: Classic Vintage from Pure Photoshop Actions. I love the mellow look it gave these soft feathery flowers.

It’s a seed head from a clematis flower
They’re photogenic, aren’t they? We have a clematis growing along our fence and I prefer the feathery seed heads to the flowers.
Ohhhhhhhh! I didn’t realize they came in yellow. I’ve only seen them in purple. Thanks for letting me know!
They come in heaps of different colours & sizes. My mum has one with enormous dark crimson flowers – stunning when it’s it full bloom.
Hmmmm, I may have to see if I can find some in yellow and crimson. Purple seems so drab now.
