My apologies…

Between a variety of summer adventures and a horrid summer cold that knocked me down for a few days, I have been woefully negligent in keeping up with my blog.  That being said, we are heading off on another whirlwind adventure at the end of the week, so I will be sharing the next two week`s challenges at the end of this post.  I can`t wait to see all of your submissions when I return.

Oops, I forgot something!

Sorry, my 52 Pick Up crew, but I completely missed posting the review for the week!  Apparently all of this relaxing has turned my brain to mush.  So it may be a little late, but here is the review of last week’s challenge.  As always the new challenge is at the end of the review.

On the note of posting the review a little late, it will be late next week too as I will be a little busy with some summertime fun with my family, this weekend.

Week 28: Playing with the Sun

I hope the sun is shining in your part of the world, because it is beating down on Alberta with relentless heat right now.  I’m loving it!  This week your challenge is to get out there and enjoy the sun as well as use the sun creatively in your photos.  Look for interesting shadows, catch a sun flare, have another go at silhouettes or stay up late for a beautiful sunset.

Welcome to Summer!

The sun is finally shining here in Alberta, and school has let out so in my world, summer has officially begun.  I now have some extra time on my hands, and I look forward to reconnecting with my blog and the many new connections I have made here at WordPress.

Week 27: Take a Drive

Summer is always about adventure, so get in your vehicle and have an adventure.  Become a local tourist and check out all the great things that bring visitors to your area.  This challenge is all about taking a drive and capturing the sights you see as well as the fun you have.  So pack a lunch, load up the kiddos and have some fun!

The end is in sight!

The miserable month of June is coming to a close and the light at the end of the tunnel can be seen.  For the most part, my report cards are done and the last day of school is quickly approaching.  I look forward to enjoying some time with my girls this summer.  Not to mention our upcoming camping trips to BC and Idaho.  I am also looking forward to having a little more time to devote to my photography and blog.  Stay tuned for the new Pic-a-Day themes for July!

Here in Alberta we are hoping the rain will stop soon and the sun will come out to play.  In celebration of summer and the sun I invite you to play with the light.  Have fun catching sun flares, unique shadows or even feel free to try your hand at silhouettes again.

Happy Father’s Day!

I hope you had the chance to celebrate the special men in your life today.  I was able to celebrate Father’s Day with my loving husband and our two daughters.  The girls made their dad breakfast and our youngest then went on to be her daddy’s shadow.  She was also pretty excited to put together lemon fluff parfait’s for dessert tonight.  Our eldest, who is busy preparing for final exams, did her share helping out around the house before getting down to the business of studying.  I will admit I spent most of the day in front of the computer writing report cards.  Over 16, 000 words, and I think they are just about done!

Into the great outdoors!

It seems that many of you were able to spend time outside this week as just about all of the images from participants were taken outdoors.  The colours, subjects and lighting lend itself so nicely to capturing images with lovely bokeh.
